The resort we stayed at sadly didn't have the most attractive beach to revel in, but fully compensated this inadequacy by having 4 ginormous pools around. Our favorite spot was a little island that was right smack in the middle of one of the 2 pools, conveniently had 4 lounge chairs, and was absolutely perfect for tanning and frolicking in the water. Everyday would be kind of a race with the other guests as to whom would get to this island first. My friends and I owned that island for a day and a half.

A little past the end of summer, my friends and I were finally able to take a trip to the beach for a relaxing 4-day weekend. Prior to our departure from Manila, we had encountered a mini typhoon, but luckily didn't affect the sunny weather of our destination -- the island of Bohol.

Pictures include: our ride on the shuttle from the airport and our little welcome drink from Mr. Cuervo, randoms of the resort, the cutie pie that is Jayco, and the trail of blue.

More pictures to come.

/Trousseau by Reshma/

In a couple of my past posts, I constantly raved about the cutest clutches from Trousseau by Reshma (which you can see again here, here, and here). The natural material and unique stingray design on most of the clutches were such a hit that Reshma decided to diversify her stingray collection by including them on cuffs made of either gold (my favorite -- which you can see here) or silver and run in a wide range of colors. These cuffs literally go with anything and can spruce up any outfit.

The Trousseau by Reshma collection is now available in Luca at the Rockwell Mall or your can find them online here. These cuffs have gotten so much publicity this year, the same year the line was created. Hurry and get yours fast!

/Linen + Suede/

DSC_1052

This vintage linen blazer has got to be one of my favorites from my new agglomeration of vintage blazers. I've recently become more inclined to dressing in tonal color-on-color, mixing separates made of various material of the same color palette (this outfit is a mixture of linen, polyester, and suede).

This week has gone by surprisingly quickly: fulfilling daily routine responsibilities, watching new episodes of Breaking Bad and Entourage, sneaking in a late night movie (The Rise of the Planet of the Apes - which turned out to be a pretty good movie), meeting friends for a quickie mid-week drinkie, trying out a new fitness program (it's been a year since I've last worked out so this was indeed long overdue), and contemplating painting the walls of my room. I'm leaning more towards no (since my place is rented), but redecorating is at the top of my priority list these days.

/Scalloped/

DSC_1065

Scalloped shorts and skirts have been on my shopping list for quite some time, and it just so happens that I now have a pair of both in the same coral color. It's always nice to see a pop of color in an everyday outfit during the summer, most especially for me since I usually stick with black or neutral colors.

This knit sweater is one of my favorite pieces to wear all year round due to its versatility, the fact that it already looks worn out, and its high level of comfort. It's definitely an added bonus that it manages to keep me cool with its large mesh holes.

Balmain's 2012 Resort line has me inspired in so many various ways. One of the main things I love about Balmain is their ability to mix feminine and masculine inspired pieces and top their looks off with subtle edginess.

Some of my favorite pieces include the printed jacket (in the first picture), the leather jacket, the long, open black skirt with the inner mini skirt, and the white blazer with the silk black collar. I've been looking for something similar to that one, but no luck so far.

This whole past week has been really tiring. I caught bronchitis once again due to the crazy rainy/chilly weather and the sad fact that my lungs can't take it. Hopefuly next week I'l finally be able to post some of those vintage blazers I've been raving about for the longest time.

Hope you have a great weekend!

/Trunk Show/

photo

This trunk show, a collaboration between John Paras and my good friend Reshma, the brilliant creator behind one of my favorite bag brands (see a few of my past posts for some of her adorable clutches), Trousseau, is one of THE main highlights of my weekend.

/Currently.../

This past week has been pretty laid back and to my consternation, I've found myself wanting to be in constant hibernation, only heading out to hang with friends for a bit and a couple dinner runs.

I just finished reading...

I've currently found myself incessantly listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers every chance I can get, thanks to a friend of mine who is heading over to Hong Kong to see their concert next month.

Obsessing over...

I am highly highly HIGHLY anticipating their new collaboration album, Watch the Throne.

/J & J/

Around sometime in May, a very good friend of mine, Jacq, gave me the privelege to style her engagement pictures with her then-fiancé (now-husband), Janssen. They rented a gorgeous sailboat over at the yacht club in Subic, a 2-hour drive out of town from Manila. The photographer for these prenuptuals was Oly Ruiz of Metrophoto, who happens to be an incredibly talented, yet modest photographer and I was absolutely delighted to take part in this project that was history-in-the-making into my 2 friends' road to marriage.

A couple days prior, I had spent quite some time with Jacq and Janssen choosing outfits that would work best with one another's, as well as what would work best with the location. The first location for this shoot took place at a stable called El Kabayo then the rest of the day was shot at the Subic Bay Yacht Club. To both my joy and relief, the outfits + accessories that we chose for this shoot, together with the beautiful setting resembled exactly what they wanted: romance and timelessness.
